Vonderheide Family 2026 | Family Session | Arlington, TN

This week I went to Arlington, TN, for a fall family session. On this particular day, it was extremely overcast all day. I was getting a bit concerned that it might get dark much earlier, with it being so cloudy. So I headed down to Arlington a little early to make sure we got plenty of time. As I drove down I-40, the clouds slowly cleared out and made way for bright sun.

It was beautiful when I arrived in Arlington at the park the family had chosen for pictures. When I arrived, the kiddos were ready to get going. I would really love to bottle up that energy and use it for myself. I’ve gotten to photograph these sweet babies for years now, and I always look forward to it. There is so much personality in these two tiny bodies.

So be warned, you are going to see portraits that are not your ordinary family portrait. Some of my very favorite images from this session were the ones where we were trying to get them to be still and smile. As you’ll see, sometimes that didn’t work as planned. And it’s beautiful.
