The Nelson Family | 50th Anniversary | Jackson TN
I’m finally at a point in life where I can look back and truly see how different people come and go, each leaving their mark in their own way. The Nelson family is one of those special families. With several members who have, at different times, played meaningful roles in my life.
When I was younger and my husband was in school, I not only had my studio but also got my insurance license and worked at an insurance company. I worked with lots of really great people, and Robert was one of those. When you work in an office with people, they are in your life every single day. That is no small thing. Once my son was born, I stopped doing insurance, and my time was full with kids and photography.
We decided to move as our kids started getting closer to school age and our needs started to change. Crazy enough, we moved to a wonderful cove that included one of Robert’s daughters and her family. We had a wonderful cove of people and all the kids would get out and play together. And a lot of the time, we parents would stand out in the cove and chat while they played. It was a really special time in our lives. We were very lucky to have that group of people to share it with.
Life changed significantly, and many of us moved to other places, so we don’t get to see each other as often. So I was very excited when I was called to take family pictures as the family’s gift to Robert and his beautiful wife for their 50th wedding anniversary. Where the adults had barely changed, the kids looked like different people. Time sure does fly. I’m so glad I get to photograph old friends and spend a little time reminiscing with them. It was great seeing the Nelson family and getting to help them make special memories.
